“AMERICAN NIGHTMARE?”: created by community members of Corona, Queens. A day in the American Dream – Rosa is looking for a job. Is her English enough? Lucha has not been paid for 3 weeks. Maria has serious problems with her son. Can they find a way out?
El Grupo de Teatro FRONTIERRA presentará nuestra última obra de teatro bilingue: “¿Pesadilla Americana?” Gratis en “MAKE THE ROAD”.
“¿Pesadilla Americana?”: Un Show de Teatro Bilingue, todo creado por miembros de la comunidad de Corona, Queens. Un día en el Sueño Americano – Rosa está buscando un trabajo, a Lucho no le han pagado hace 3 semanas y María tiene problemas con su hijo en casa. Pueden ellos encontrar una salida?

Do you speak a little bit of English? Are you looking to improve your confidence in English? Come to a series of workshops that are fun and interactive for adults, with theatre games and activities. We will work together as a group, play and develop scenes, discuss and share our stories in a relaxed theatre workshop. No theatre experience necessary! These are not acting classes. For beginners with basic knowledge of English. See you there!
About the teacher’s: Reka Polonyi (Polly in Spanish) I’ve trained in the UK, I have been working as a Social Theatre Practitioner and facilitator for the last few years in various countries – Ecuador, Hungary, UK and USA. I work in Theatre for Human and Migrant Rights
Montserrat Hernández, Chilean performer, where she received the academic excellence scholarship. Currently preparing her professional actress degree where she will work Testimonial Theater with Immigrants. Previous studies with a concentration in Theatre Pedagogy. In New York, is Associate Member of Nettles Artists Collective.
This picture is from the Premiere of “WHAT IS HAPPENING TO US?” A BILINGUAL THEATER SHOW. Carmen, a single mother, is fighting to save the library and to keep her rebellious son in school. But can she win against the Mayor, Carlos the millionaire and her son, or is she alone?. We hope to create another play together in this second session of CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH THROUGH THEATRE GAMES.

Habla un poco de Inglés? Quiere mejorar su confianza al hablar Inglés? Lo invitamos a participar en una serie de divertidos talleres interactivos para adultos con juegos de teatros y actividades. Trabajaremos en equipo, desarrollando obras y escenarios, discutiendo y compartiendo nuestras historias en un taller relajado de teatro. No hay que tener experiencia en teatro o actuación! No son clases de actuación. Para principiantes con conocimientos básicos de Inglés. Nos vemos!
Sobre las profesoras: Reka Polonyi (Polly en Español) He entrenado en el Reino Unido, trabajando como profesional en Teatro Social y facilitador de los últimos años en varios países-Ecuador, Hungría, Reino Unido y EE.UU..Trabajo en el teatro para los Derechos Humanos e Inmigrantes.
Montserrat Hernández, Actriz chilena, recibió la beca de excelencia académica por sus estudios. Actualmente prepara su título de actriz profesional en la que trabajará Teatro Testimonial con Inmigrantes. Estudios previos en Pedagogía Teatral. En New York es Miembro de Nettles Artists Collective.
