My Way to Learn English

Location: Stamford, Connecticut, USA

Project Description: My current artistic practice stems mostly from the background of two immigrations. Personal, historical and cultural ties to Israel are some of the central driving forces in my creative process. The main outcome of learning a foreign language is a set of words, a new vocabulary, a way to communicate with a different audience.  The methods of acquiring a language are many, for me the most effective one is through imagery. I create images as a tool for memorizing; once the words enter daily use, all that is left from the process are visuals. The ability to recall meetings and events is foremost based within the verbal realm and the images come later.  The residue in this case are the links that are based on the visual evidence that remains from the process of learning. The word as the beginning to all other spheres of human life.
