Duet for Split Toy Piano: Inside/ Outside (Italy/ USA)

Project Description: In celebration of International Migrants Day I will broadcast a duet for “split” toy piano performed over Skype between two different locations, one inside and one outside. Each in different locations, musicians Gianni Lenoci (Italy) and Jeff Kimmel (USA) will simultaneously play the left and the right halves of the “split” toy piano. The musicians synchronize their improvised performances via Skype so that the performance mimics the spontaneity and character of a conversation more commonly held over the internet by two separated people. Before the performance begins the Migrant Manifesto will be read.
