Project Description:

The title for this collective project comes from the wrong pronunciation of the word migration often made by the Russian speakers. It also points out at the shared identity and solidarity between the citizens and migrants.

We are planning to show video works dealing with the issues of migration and immigration. We are also planning on conducting a round-table discussion with representatives of migrant communities in Moscow. We are going to discuss possible ways of collaboration between migrants and artists in Russia. In addition, the artist Haim Sokol will present his new work for the discussion – The Barter, 2011. In this project, Haim was selling his works through Facebook, and then used the earned money to buy new shoes and working tools. He would then exchange the old items for the new ones from the migrants. The artists are planning on focusing their discussion on the ambivalent and two-sided nature of social-art project.

This information and the list of participants will be updated.
