OUR HISTORY

YEAR ONE

YEAR TWO

Our Corona, Queens community kept IM International alive; at the end of the first year, when our funding period was coming to a close, the community took the initiative to make sure that the project continued to function.

In Year Two we took a look inward, focusing on strengthening our community and developing comprehensive educational programming and legal services.  One of our main initiatives was working with the women in our community by creating a holistic health program aimed at improving physical and emotional health while tackling the issue of domestic violence.

On May 29th, 2012, we opened a sister project of IM International in Mexico City, el Partido del Pueblo Migrante (PPM).  PPM is a political party for migrants that intends to intervene directly in the Mexican presidential elections by expanding the discourse surrounding migration on an international level.
