Giovanni Peri

Biography:

Giovanni Peri is Professor of Economics at the University of California, Davis and a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is also a CESifo Research Fellow, a CReAM External Fellow and member of the editorial board in the Journal of Urban EconomicsJournal of Population Economics and Regional Science and Urban Economics. Prior to coming to UC Davis, he visited the European University Institute as Jean Monnet Fellow in the year 2000/01 and taught at UCLA Economics Department as Global Fellow in the year 2004/05. He does research and has published extensively on the determinants of international migrations and their impact on labor markets, productivity, and investments. During the Academic year 2010-2011 he is visiting research professor in Bocconi University, Milano. Peri holds a B.A. in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University, and he earned his Ph.D. in Economics at U.C. Berkeley in 1998.
